Resume Pt. 2

 Okayyy so this is how my resume turned out: 

I had to screenshot it but I like how it turned out aesthetically. Honestly InDesign still feels like a more pretentious Google Docs, but I do like the template we used and how organized everything is. I tried to match the color scheme to be similar to my logo, although I've heard that when people look at resumes they just want a plain one, so I might not be using this for applying to jobs. I do think it helped me learn InDesign better, but I have noticed that adding text gets and dealing with the different line guides and all can get a bit difficult.

Photo Collage

 This week our assignment was to create our own kind of safe space in Photoshop (with our own pictures) and play with the hues and color balances as well. This is what I did:  I freaking love this. Like my previous entry, I'm in a bit of a Barbie mood, so I knew whatever I did, I wanted it to end up bright pink. I took a landscape photo from a few years ago at the Morikami Gardens in Boca Raton, and then added some elements that mean a lot to me. In the back, I added some mountains from a picture I took in Red Rock Park, when I took my first solo flight to visit my friend in Las Vegas. The tiny Rockefeller statue in the corner is from this past summer, when my family and I took a trip to visit my dad's side of the family in New York (the original picture is me and my dad taking a selfie with the statue in the back). I also added the planet in the corner, mostly because the colors were already pretty sick, and also because my sister and I have always been interested in astronomy

Overture, The Artwork of the Future, &Theater, Circus, Variety

 Overture     For the first reading of the semester, I thought this beginning chapter was very interesting, especially as it built upon the article from Vannevar Bush's "As We May Think". It was very interesting to read about the origins of digital media as we know it today. I also learned that the integration of the digital into different forms of media first happened in the 1960s, with Billy Klüver's interactive artworks. While detailing the history of media and how it has evolved into how we use it today, the chapter also discusses our current media technologies, outlining five characteristics that make today's "new media" different from that of the past: Integration - the combining of artistic forms & technology into a hybrid form of expression  Interactivity - the ability of the user to manipulate & affect her experience of media directly, and to communicate with others through media Hypermedia - the linking of separate media elements to one

Intro to Illustrator

 Today we started using Illustrator and it's so much more fun than Photoshop. Photoshop sucks lowkey. Obviously, it'll take some time to get used to, but Illustrator is already so much easier to understand, although there were some tools that were just not working for me. For example, I literally couldn't get the blend shape tool to work,  OR the curvy text tool, so I'm going to have to play around with that. I can't paste what I made in class, but it felt very Minecraft inspired. Just very simple shapes. I am excited to work on our assignments for next week, though I do think the portrait might be a bit of a challenge.
