Final Thoughts

I decided to take this class simply because it was a pre-requisite for other classes that I might want to take in the future. However, I'm really glad I stuck with it, because I really didn't want to in the beginning. Learning new stuff and sharing creative work is always very hard for me (I worry a lot about what other people think), so I really wasn't sure that I wanted to stay in this class, but I realized that I had the opportunity to gain a new skill, something that could really help me in any future career I pick. My favorite program to use was Photoshop, but even though I wasn't any good at Illustrator, it motivates me to learn more about how to use it, so I can be really skilled at it. Yeah, some things about the process might be tedious, like cleaning up lines in Photoshop to be excessively precise, or hand-placing all the points in Illustrator to trace an image (I cannot figure out a better way to do that), but at the end it all can come together to create som

Today was the last day of class, and we didn't present our portfolios, but I'll put my favorite page of it here:  I just really like having both images in the same style and seeing how they both came together. This was also when I was so hesitant at the start of the semester to use Photoshop and now that I'm looking back on it, I realize that I made a pretty cool image right off the bat. I did notice a theme of cool color tones throughout some of my work, but I think it was pretty much killed by my last, bright hot pink image. I will say it is pretty difficult sizing and getting pictures to frame in Indesign without them being stretched or shrunk, but I think I did well at getting them together and looking normal. It was also nice to write about each piece after the fact, since you notice things about them that you might not have before, and you can see how you've grown and learned to work with the different Adobe programs. I didn't include the resume because it di

Final Project

This is it...finals time! (That made it seem like I'm excited for this time of year...I'm not). Our last assignment is to create a little portfolio of our work from this semester and write a little bit about each piece. I'm excited to see what I've done put together and to see if there are any themes or reoccurring styles within my work, but again I find myself beefing with InDesign over the different templates they offer. We're technically allowed to use whatever template we want, but all the ones offered aren't fitting my ~vision~ and I refuse to pay for new templates, so I'm going to have to make it work. On another note, I was writing a paper about the movie Everything, Everywhere, All At Once  (yes I did cry while watching and again wile writing the paper), but I came across the fact that the movie and all its effects were put together in Premiere Pro, not some fancy editing software, so I thought that was super interesting. It also makes me realize ho
